The success of this project will be in the ability of your allowing. The more truthful and real you can be in this process the more phoenixes we will raise from the ashes, bringing with them the promise of re-birth, hope, forgiveness, healing, expansion, permission, understanding and the ultimate feeling of Oneness.
We ask you to consider this healing art form and participate combining the written word with imagery. This will look very different for all of us. Could be an essay, a poem, a conversation, or simply…stream of consciousness then combined with a painting, a drawing, a collage, photography, sculpture. Whatever it is, make it your process and share with us a personal snapshot of you.
The project was introduced in a gallery showing on May 15th, 2009 exhibiting the first portraits. On May 16th, 2009 this website went live and it is here we will collect submissions and update monthly with new portraits. We ask you to participate by simply experiencing others portraits or submitting a portrait of your own. The starburst we used in our branding was born from the first group of participants. Each line represents a person crossing paths with others and coming together to form a burst of energy, creating the human life experience.
